Madison County is located in the center of New York State. From our central location we have easy access to many great fishing streams, rivers and lakes. Oneida Lake, Finger Lakes region, Adirondack and Catskill Mountains, Lake Ontario and its tributaries such as the Salmon River are all just a short drive away.
Our home water is Chittenango Creek. The 12 miles of water is readily accessible and offers relatively easy wading. This makes it an ideal year round trout fishing stream and excellent training area for our youth and new fisherman.
Trout Unlimiteds' mission is to conserve, protect and restore North America's cold water fisheries and their watersheds. TU accomplishes this mission on local, state and national levels with an extensive and dedicated volunteer network. TU's national office, based just outside of Washington, D.C., and its regional offices employ professionals who testify before Congress, publish a quarterly magazine, intervene in federal legal proceedings, and work with the organization's 152,000 volunteers in 450 chapters nationwide to keep them active and involved in conservation issues.
We, as a local representative of this national organization, work to support this mission within our community. On these pages, we have included information and pictures of our members and the work they do to preserve cold water fisheries.
